Spring is literally bursting forth like an eager puppy off the leash at the park.
Daffodils, Tulips, Hawthorn Blossom, Birds flying by with twigs. Early morning and late evening light feels like someone just opened the curtains.
There’s a shift in the air. You can sense it, you can feel it, you hear it. You just instinctively know that Spring is arriving. Yet nothing physical happens in the practical sense. This is how I like to describe Reiki energy at work.
We can’t see the flow of energy, we can’t physically lay our hands on it. But like the shift in the atmosphere, the light, the sounds and sights around us. This is how Reiki works on your own life energy. Your whole being has an energy force that ebbs and flows. Similar to the seasons. You’ll go through periods of change, adaptation, resourcefulness and rest.
Yet Reiki doesn’t always follow a typical sesaonal path. What I mean by this, is that Spring is seen as a time of renewal, new life, an awakening from the winter slumber. But you may be at a point in your own season of life that feels drained, depleted, withdrawn. There may be life factors at play, caring for someone elderly or who is ill, losing a job, or navigating a health issue, grief and loss of a loved one. Naturally you won’t feel like bursting forth with energy and sunshine and smiles.
Reiki sessions with me at the cabin work with you as an individual. Always at your pace. It flows and meanders to where you need it the most. It allows you to shed off negative patterns, to feel the presence of pure love and comfort. To be held in light and to know that despite where you are now, there is always light within you.
Often I’ll suggest at this point in the year. That you make time to step outside in the morning and last thing at night. Cup your hands around a hot lemon water ( AM) a soothing herbal sleep tea ( PM). No phones first thing, no screens. Just step outside turn your face upwards and take some deep breaths in from your diaphragm, sigh out the tension, the worry, the anxiety, the fear. Let your shoulders drop, feel the muscles relax.
Now close your eyes. What can you hear? This is something I practice with my clients in my Mindful Nature sessions. It tunes our brains and senses into acute listening. You’ll be amazed at what you hear. Layers of all kinds of noises both near and far.
Notice where you feel heavy in your body. Where are you tensing or tightening? Grab a notebook and write down your anxiety about the day ahead if you are in a chapter of grief, caring fatigue, loss and confusion. By placing thoughts onto paper it can give you a shift of letting those thoughts have a place to land. You are no longer carrying them, you have given them a voice, and sometimes you can see an action, purpose or solution from writing them down.
Reiki energy for me increases with the Spring Equinox. There’s a renewal from the warmth of the sun, and the earth beneath my feet. I feel it transfer in sessions to clients as a golden ray of light. A primrose yellow that weaves like silk ribbons throughout your meridians and chakras to where you need it most.
If you feel at the edge of a season on the change, pause, take a moment for yourself. If being guided would help facilitate a shift within, then myself and the cabin are always here for you, and I offer remote sessions too.
I’ll leave you with a beautiful Irish Spring Blessing
"May the blessing of the Gatherer of Hope,
The Bringer of Springtime,
The Brightener of Seasons,
be upon the embers of my spring-wakening soul.
May it flame forth with the sun's returning glory."
